WrongScoreGrade

Grading a stack of quizzes by hand is nobody’s idea of fun. Type in two numbers — total questions and wrong answers — and this easy grader instantly gives you the percentage score, the letter grade, and a complete chart for every possible number of wrong answers.

How teachers use it

Give a 20-question quiz. A student misses 3. That’s 17 out of 20 = 85%, a solid B. Instead of reaching for a calculator (or a dusty chart taped to your desk), type 20 and 3 above and you’re done — then glance at the full chart to grade the rest of the pile without typing anything else.

The chart updates live as you change the total. Grading a 50-question test next? Change one number and the whole chart rebuilds instantly.

Print the chart

Hit Print chart to get a clean printout (or save it as a PDF) with every wrong-answer count from 0 to your total. Pin it next to your desk and grade the old-fashioned way — just faster.

What grading scale does it use?

The standard US percentage scale: A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60 (with plus/minus bands). If your school uses a different scale, the percentage column is still exact — just read the letter grade from your own table. Our grading scale guide covers the common variations.

Frequently asked questions

How do I grade with number correct instead of number wrong?
Subtract from the total first: on a 25-question test with 22 correct, that’s 3 wrong. Enter 25 and 3.

Can I use this for weighted or partial-credit questions?
This grader treats every question equally. For assignments with different point values, use our grade calculator instead — it handles any point values per question.

Is the chart accurate for large tests?
Yes — percentages are computed exactly for each row. The chart shows up to 200 rows; for bigger tests, the live result at the top is always exact.

Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no limits, no watermark on printouts.
